Conservative Dentistry
Your teeth suffer from cavities or non-carious damage like abrasion, erosion, or attrition. Conservative dentistry offers you the best solution. By removing the damaged parts of the tooth and preserving as much of the remaining dental structure as possible, conditions can be created to restore the tooth’s anatomy with aesthetic and durable dental materials. The conservative fillings performed in our clinic are proven for their longevity.
Composite fillings (tooth-colored material) are used to repair teeth affected by cavities, fractures, cracks, etc. The decayed or fractured part of the tooth will be removed first and then replaced with composite material.
The composition of composites, since they were first used in the mid-1960s, has continuously improved. Researchers aim to find a material that not only closely matches the appearance but also the strength of natural teeth. Today, the latest generation of composites offers nano-technology composites, ensuring high durability against chewing forces and wear, nearly natural appearance with chroma and transparency, perfect polishing skills, allowing dentists the opportunity for near-ideal reshaping of the shape and color of damaged teeth. Like other materials used in our clinic, composites are carefully selected, ensuring they have original manufacturer certifications and are classified with five-star ratings from Dental Adviser. For many years, we have been loyal to manufacturers such as Ivoclar-Vivadent, Kerr, Ultradent, etc., whose composites have marked true revolutions in the field of dentistry.
When a composite filling is performed:
- Teeth with damaged fillings.
- Aesthetic adjustments in teeth with gaps.
- Broken or fractured teeth.
- Teeth with cavities.
- Teeth worn by chewing.
The placement of a composite filling often accompanies sensitivity to cold. This is normal, especially when the composite is placed for the first time, but it does not last long. You will quickly adapt to the new filling. You will also be instructed on how to care for your new filling.
Good oral hygiene, a balanced diet, and regular dental visits will prolong the life of your new filling.
For 15 years, we have been one of the few clinics in Kosovo that do not apply amalgam fillings
